If I recall the different, type of ciphers are different sizes, and maybe different layouts. Anyone have a link to a page with these specs? Or maybe a scholar can just post layout and specs here?

    Thanks folks

    Paul,

Glyphic Ciphers are now received from Staff/Logistics, although in-game, they are made by Player Characters.

Runic and Wyrdic Ciphers have no specific format beyond the fact that they must contain all the necessary information: Runic Ciphers require the spell’s information and usage while Wyrdic Ciphers need to have what the formula/recipe does and what it requires.

Most importantly, these need to be signed off and dated by a Staff or Wolfpack member.

The various formats and sizes are largely up to the creative abilities of whomever is making it, so long as it fulfills the requirements mentioned above. This means that a Runic Cipher can be a rolled scroll of paper, a tablet with writing, etc. Wyrdic Ciphers are usually sheets of paper, sometimes in a recipe book.

Having a staff signature and date is crucial, as Joe said. I can’t stress the importance of that enough.

I am not sure what you mean by this? PC’s make them but staff hands them out?

So do I need to make some a give them to staff?

    Paul,

Logistics/Staff have pre-made Glyphic Cipher tags on hand. PCs that “make” them simply need to get these tags from Staff and fill them out (then store them with their character). These need to be signed off.

Therefore, when crafting a Glyphic Cipher, a Player Character must:

    A) spend the requisite time crafting and/or performing the necessary ritual RP

    B) go to Logistics/Staff for the Glyphic Cipher tag

    C) hand over the component cost and have the Cipher signed off.
On January 2016 and onward, most of the spells that require Glyphic Ciphers no longer do so. Only those spells that require Component expenditure require Glyphic Ciphers. Similarly, the amount of spells that require components have been reduced.
