THE PATH OF THE WARSOUL

 

Tier 1

Requires:

–          0 Build

 

–          Weapon Proficiency skill in any weapon.

 

–          the Great Strength skill or a skill that replicates it.

 

–          You must possess at least a Complex-level Melee Weapon.

 

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Armsman, Champion or Soldier

 

Benefits:

 

A) You may now learn Basic Warrior Skills (except for Mastery Skills) and Basic Warrior Feats.

 

B) You are trained in one of the options below, based on your Trainer’s sub-class.

 

–          Armsman: Once per Moon, you can choose a Weapon-type and a Weapon-style (such as Dual Axes or Axe and Shield) to specialize in. You must defeat 5 foes in real or practice combat or quietly meditate for 10 minutes over your weaponry to gain the following bonus: whenever you use the Critical Strike feat, you inflict 2 more points of damage than normal. This bonus disappears at the end of the Moon. This choice is necessary for any Sub-class feature that necessitates the Student of Steel feature.

 

–          Champion: In addition, whenever when an ally protected by the Comrade-in-arms skill is brought to 0 HP by an enemy, a Champion gains a free use of the Critical Strike feat (if she has it) to be used upon one of their ally’s assailants. Preface this Critical Strike with “Avenging” (e.g. “Avenging Crit 10 damage!”). This Critical Strike costs the Champion 0 SP to perform but must be performed within 30 seconds after their ally has been downed.

 

–          Soldier: When attacking an enemy from behind and when striking his enemy’s back torso, a Soldier can slow his attacks to deliver stronger strikes. To do this, preface your damage with the word “Backstab” (e.g. “Backstab 5 damage”). Your new damage value is your normal melee damage +2. This bonus to damage stacks with the bonuses granted by the Backstabber Class feature and the Dirty Fighting skills.

 

 

Tier 2

Requires:

–          10 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Armsman, Champion or Soldier

 

 

Benefits:

A) You gain ONE of the following skills below, if you do not have it yet:

  • the Axe Expertise skill
  • the Blade Expertise skill
  • the Mace Expertise skill.
  • the Pole-arm Expertise skill.
  • the Armor Expertise skill.
  • the Shield Expertise skill.
  • the Dual-weapon Expertise skill.
  • the Great Weapon Expertise skill.
  • the Einhander Expertise skill.

 

 

B) You gain one of the following below based on your Trainer’s Warrior Sub-class.

 

–          Armsman: You can observe an enemy for at least 30 seconds, moving no faster than a slow walk and saying “Studying 1, Studying 2…Studying 30”. Any damage or Control effect you receive disrupts this process – at the end of this, you may perform 1 Critical Strike feat for free (0 SP) upon the enemy you have studied. Preface this Critical Strike with “Expert” (e.g. “Expert Crit 10 damage!”). This Critical Strike costs you 0 SP to perform but must be performed within 30 seconds after completing your study and it must be your next melee attack.

 

–          Champion: You can Augment the Block or Parry feats to negate melee attacks against a Comrade-in-arms within weapon reach. Within 5 seconds after your comrade is attacked, you may touch your ally with your weapon and say “Intercept Parry” or “Intercept Block” to negate the attack. A Feat may only one Augment or Modification upon it at a time and it still costs 1 SP to do this.

 

–          Soldier: You gain the Camouflage skill, if you do not have it yet. If you prematurely break from Camouflage, you can say “Launch the Ambush!”. You gain a (0 SP) free use of the Critical Strike feat. Preface this Critical Strike with “Expert” (e.g. “Expert Crit 10 damage!”). This Critical Strike costs you 0 SP to perform but must be performed within 30 seconds after breaking from Camouflage.

 

Tier 3

Requires:

–          20 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Armsman, Champion or Soldier.

 

Benefits:

 

A) You can now learn Complex Warrior skills (non-Mastery only) and Complex Warrior feats

 

B) Choose one of the Once Per Period Class Features of your Trainer’s Sub-class. You gain that Feature, but you can only use it Once per Month instead.

 

C) You gain ONE of the following skills below, if you do not have it yet:

  • the Axe Expertise skill
  • the Blade Expertise skill
  • the Mace Expertise skill.
  • the Pole-arm Expertise skill.
  • the Armor Expertise skill.
  • the Shield Expertise skill.
  • the Dual-weapon Expertise skill.
  • the Great Weapon Expertise skill.
  • The Einhander Expertise skill

 

 

Tier 4

Requires:

–          30 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC only) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Armsman, Champion or Soldier

 

Benefits:

A) Choose one skill from the list below, you learn it immediately at no cost to Build. You must have its pre-requisites, however.

  • the Axe Mastery skill
  • the Blade Mastery skill
  • the Mace Mastery skill.
  • the Pole-arm Mastery skill.
  • the Armor Mastery skill.
  • the Shield Mastery skill.
  • the Dual-weapon Mastery skill.
  • the Great Weapon Mastery skill.
  • The Einhander Mastery skill.

 

 

B) You gain the 4th or 8th level Sub-class Feature of your Trainer’s Warrior Sub-class.

 

C) Choose one of the Once Per Period Sub-class Features of your Trainer’s Sub-class. You gain that Feature, but you can only use it Once per Month instead.

 

 

Tier 5 (Master Warsoul)

Requires:

–          40 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC only) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Armsman, Champion or Soldier

 

Benefits:

A) You can now learn Erudite Warrior skills and Erudite Warrior feats

 

B) Choose one skill from the list below, you learn it immediately at no cost to Build. You must have its pre-requisites, however.

  • the Axe Mastery skill
  • the Blade Mastery skill
  • the Mace Mastery skill.
  • the Pole-arm Mastery skill.
  • the Armor Mastery skill.
  • the Shield Mastery skill.
  • the Dual-weapon Mastery skill.
  • the Great Weapon Mastery skill.
  • The Einhander Mastery skill.

 

C) You gain the 10th level Class Feature of your Trainer’s Warrior Sub-class.

 

D) Furthermore, you are considered to be a fully fledged member of that Sub-class for the purposes of Teaching others and qualifying for other Paths. You may now learn the Mastery skills of the Warrior Class.
