THE PATH OF THE TOTEMSOUL

 

Tier 1

Requires:

–          0 Build

 

–          You must possess the Resilience skill and the Willpower skill.

 

–          You must be initiated into this Path by a Great Totem or its Lesser Aspect. Summoning a Totemic Aspect typically requires at least a Pure Elemental Component and a secret ritual. Entering a Great Totem’s court would require far more costly expenditures.

 

–          After beginning this Path and choosing one of the three types of Totemic Shifts (Rage, Trance or Dance), you are forever bound to it. You may only advance in this Path through Trainers of your Totemsoul Sub-Class

 

Benefits:

 

A) You may now learn Basic Adept Skills (except for Mastery Skills) and Basic Adept Feats.

 

B) You gain the Totem Strike feat. Furthermore, you may choose a Totem from this list: Earth, Moon, Storm, Sun or Winter. Your Totemic Feats and Abilities are affected by that Totem. Furthermore, you gain a Totemic Mark that must be openly displayed upon your Face or your Chest.

 

C) You gain the Spiritual Communion Class Feature (see Adept class)

 

D) You are trained in one of the options below, based on your Trainer’s sub-class. Once Trained, your future training must follow the same type – that is to say, once you are trained as a Zephyr, you may advance on this Path only with a Zephyr’s training.

 

–          Berserker Rage: Once per Moon, you may invoke a “Berserker Rage” (see Berserker sub-class). You only gain the base benefits of this ability and you are subject to its disadvantages and restrictions.

 

–          Mystic Trance: Once per Moon, you may invoke a “Mystic Trance” (see Mystic sub-class). You only gain the base benefits of this ability and you are subject to its disadvantages and restrictions.

 

–          Zephyr Dance: Once per Moon, you may invoke a “Zephyr Dance” (see Zephyr sub-class). You only gain the base benefits of this ability and you are subject to its disadvantages and restrictions.

 

Tier 2

Requires:

–          10 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Berserker, Mystic or Zephyr

 

 

Benefits:

A) You gain the following skills below:

–          Totemic Ascendance

–          Totemic Guardian

–          Totemic Relentlessness

 

B) Your Berserker Rage, Mystic Trance and Zephyr Dance now benefits from your choice of Totem in addition to its basic benefits. In order to access this greater ability, you must now invoke the type of Rage, Trance or Dance.

 

C) You gain one of the following below based on your choice of Sub-class when you first entered the Totemsoul Path

 

 

–          Berserker: When you are using a two-handed Weapon or Dual-wielding weapons, your Totem Strikes inflict +1 damage. Furthermore, whenever you use the Endure Pain feat against a melee attack or when you receive 10 or more points of damage from a melee attack, you gain a free use of a Totem Strike feat for 0 SP against your assailant. Preface this Totem Strike with “Avenging” (e.g. “Avenging Storm Strike!” or “Avenging Sun Strike!”). You may make one such attack only once per minute.

 

–          Mystic: You no longer need to be in a Mystic Trance to deliver a Totem Strike from a distance. These ranged Totem Strikes inflict 7 points of normal damage or elemental damage. Furthermore, when you are in a Mystic Trance, you may perform a ranged Totem Strike for 0 SP if you preface the feat with 5 seconds of Channeling. If you do this, say “Bolt” instead of strike (e.g. “Winter Bolt” or “Earth Bolt”)

 

–          Zephyr: Using the Dodge feat now costs 1 SP instead of 2 SP. Furthermore, using the Evade feat while in a Zephyr Dance is similarly discounted.

 

Tier 3

Requires:

–          20 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Berserker, Mystic or Zephyr

 

Benefits:

 

A) You can now learn Complex Adept skills (non-Mastery only) and Complex Adept feats

 

B) Choose one of the Once Per Period Class Features of your Trainer’s Sub-class. You gain that Feature, but you can only use it Once per Month instead.

 

C) You gain all of the following skills below:

–          Greater Totemic Ascendance

–          Greater Totemic Guardian

–          Greater Totemic Relentlessness

 

 

Tier 4

Requires:

–          30 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (PC or NPC only) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Berserker, Mystic or Zephyr

 

Benefits:

A) Choose one skill from the list below, you learn it immediately at no cost to Build.

  • the Axe Expertise skill
  • the Blade Expertise skill
  • the Mace Expertise skill.
  • the Pole-arm Expertise skill.

 

 

B) You may now enter a Totemic Shift once per Period instead of Once per Moon.

 

C) You gain one of the following below based on your choice of Sub-class when you first entered the Totemsoul Path.

 

  • Berserker: Your maximum HP permanently increases by 10.

 

  • Mystic: Whenever you use the Parry feat, the Resist Charm feat, the Spurn Death feat or the Endure Pain feat to negate an attack, you may then perform a Totem Strike feat upon your assailant that costs 0 SP and must be prefaced with “Elemental” as above. Furthermore, you can now augment the Parry feat to negate ranged weapon attacks – invoke the augmented feat as  “Spinning Parry”.

 

  • Zephyr: When using your Totem Strike feat, you may Augment it so that it applies its damage to up to three different enemies instead of just one. When doing this, invoke the feat name (e.g. “Storm Strike” or “Winter Strike”) and then immediately perform one melee attack on three different targets, prefacing each damage with the word “Wave” in mid-swing. The same Totem Strike may not hit a target more than once with each use. Also, a Feat may receive only one Augment or Modification at a time.

 

 

 

 

Tier 5 (Master Totemsoul)

Requires:

–          40 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC only) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Berserker, Mystic or Zephyr

 

Benefits:

–          You can now learn Erudite Adept skills and Erudite Adept feats.

 

–          You gain all skills from the list below at no cost to build.

  • Superior Totemic Ascendance
  • Superior Totemic Guardian
  • Superior Totemic Relentlessness

 

 

–          You gain the 10th level Class Feature of your Trainer’s Adept Sub-class.

 

–          Furthermore, you are considered to be a fully fledged member of that Sub-class for the purposes of Teaching others and qualifying for other Paths. You may now learn the Mastery skills of the Adept Class.
