THE PATH OF THE SHARPSHOOTER

 

Tier 1

Requires:

–          0 Build

 

–          One of the following: Bow Proficiency skill, Crossbow Proficiency skill or Throwing weapon Proficiency skill.

 

–          You must possess the Sense Hidden or the Sense Deception feat. Alternatively, you must possess a Spell or Feat that replicates either of these.

 

–          You must possess at least a Complex-level Ranged weapon.

 

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Bowslinger, Hunter or Skirmisher.

 

Benefits:

 

A) You may now learn Basic Marksman Skills (except for Mastery Skills) and Basic Marksman Feats.

 

B) You are trained in one of the options below, based on your Trainer’s sub-class.

–          Bowslinger: Once per moon, you may choose to specialize in either Bows or Crossbows. After practicing your shooting and/or studying your weapon for at least 10 minutes, your Critical Strike feat will now inflict 2 additional damage when you use the Critical Strike feat with the ranged weapon you specialize in. This bonus to damage dissipates at the end of the moon.

 

–          Hunter: You can Augment a normal ranged attack or a ranged feat to inflict more damage. When striking the back of a target with a ranged attack, you inflict 2 more damage than you normally would. This bonus damage increases to 3 at 6th level and to 4 at 10th. Preface such back attacks with “Sneak Attack”

 

–          Skirmisher: Whenever you are within 10 feet of a target, you can Augment a normal Ranged attack or a ranged attack feat to add 1 more point of damage to it. This bonus increases to +2 at 10th level. Preface such attacks with “Point-Blank Shot”.

 

Tier 2

Requires:

–          10 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Bowslinger, Hunter or Skirmisher.

 

 

Benefits:

A) Choose Bows, Crossbows or Thrown weapons. You gain ONE of the following skills based on that choice:

  • the Bow Expertise skill (Rank 1)
  • the Crossbow Expertise skill (Rank 1)
  • the Throwing Expertise skill (Rank 1).

 

 

B) You gain one of the following below based on your Trainer’s Marksman Sub-class when you first  entered the Sharpshooter Path

 

–          Bowslinger: You may use the Snap Shot skill every 60 seconds instead of once every 5 minutes.

 

–          Hunter: Whenever you use the Hobbling Shot feat and you successfully affect your target, you can touch an adjacent ally and grant them a special melee attack that they can use on their target. Their next melee strike upon the target of your Hobbling Shot inflicts “10 damage”; this must be used within 1 minute of your Hobbling Shot. Clarify these mechanics to your ally. Alternatively, your next ranged attack against your hobbled target is a “Sneak Attack”.

 

–          Skirmisher: If you take damage while you are aiming, your next “Point-blank shot” attack or Critical Strike feat has its damage improved by +2 as long as you target the one that damaged you. This bonus persists for only 10 seconds after you’ve been damaged.

 

 

Tier 3

Requires:

–          20 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Bowslinger, Hunter or Skirmisher.

 

Benefits:

 

A) You can now learn Complex Marksman skills (non-Mastery only) and Complex Marksman feats

 

B) Choose one of the Once Per Period Class Features of your Trainer’s Sub-class. You gain that Feature, but you can only use it Once per Month instead.

 

C) You gain ONE of the following skills based on your previous choice:

  • the Bow Expertise skill (Rank 2)
  • the Crossbow Expertise skill (Rank 2)
  • the Throwing Expertise skill (Rank 2).

 

Tier 4

Requires:

–          30 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC only) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Bowslinger, Hunter or Skirmisher.

 

Benefits:

A) Choose one skill from the list below, you learn it immediately for no build cost as long as you possess its requirements.

  • Archer’s Wrath skill
  • the Deadly Precision skill

 

B) You gain the 4th or 8th level Sub-class Feature of your Trainer’s Marksman Sub-class.

 

C) Choose one of the Once Per Period Sub-class Features of your Trainer’s Sub-class. You gain that Feature, but you can only use it Once per Month instead.

 

 

Tier 5 (Master Sharpshooter)

Requires:

–          40 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC only) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Bowslinger, Hunter or Skirmisher.

 

Benefits:

A) You can now learn Erudite Marksman skills and Erudite Marksman feats

 

B) You gain ONE of the following skills:

–          the Bow Mastery skill

–          the Crossbow Mastery skill

–          the Throwing Mastery skill.

 

C) You gain the 10th level Class Feature of your Trainer’s marksman Sub-class.

 

D) Furthermore, you are considered to be a fully fledged member of that Sub-class for the purposes of Teaching others and qualifying for other Paths. You may now learn the Mastery skills of the Marksman class.
