Invoker

THE PATH OF THE INVOKER

Tier 1

Requires:

–          0 Build

–          You must possess the Lorekeeper skill and the Willpower skill

–          You must be a Chosen of your Faith. You lose this Path’s powers if you ever renounce your Faith.

–          You must always bear your Religious Symbol upon your person at all times. You cannot use your spells without it; Seekers are exempted from this requirement.

–          You must be initiated into this Path by a High Priest of your Faith or else be Divinely Ordained. Being Ordained is a ritual that consumes great power, requiring at least a Pure Holy Component or something of equal or greater energy to complete the investiture of Divine Power into the initiate. Being Divinely Ordained may also involve a Holy Quest given to the would-be Invoker.

Benefits:

A) You may now learn Basic Priest Skills (except for Mastery Skills) and Basic Faith Spells.

B) You gain the Chooser of the Slain feature of the Priest class.

C) You are trained in one of the options below based on your High Priest or God’s choice.

–          Divine Commandment: You gain the Suggestion feat, if you don’t have it yet. When you use this on a Chosen of your Faith, they are unable to resist your demands.

–          Armor of the Righteous: You can cast Priest spells while wearing metal armor. In addition, half the AP gained from the Armor of Faith spell or the Armor of the Chosen spell stack with the AP that comes from whatever armor you wear.

–          Hidden but Faithful: You must carry and maintain a Book of Truths and Lies (see Priest class). However, you are not required to bear your Holy Symbol at all times or even present it when spellcasting; when spells or abilities require you to do so, you may present an open palm instead of your Symbol and say “Faith” instead of your God’s name. Furthermore, when anyone attempts to use Gather Information, Sense Deception or a similar effect to directly ask you about your faith, you are not considered to be lying in-game if you deny your faith or if you claim to belong to another.

Tier 2

Requires:

–          10 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Avatara, Crusader or Seeker

Benefits:

A) You gain the Acolyte of Faith feature (see Priest). Essentially, this means you have to choose a Divine Sphere that your Religion grants you access to: you get the appropriate Acolyte features as well as the appropriate Servitor skill, thereby granting your access to the Basic spells of that Sphere.

B) You gain one of the following below based on your Trainer’s choice of Sub-class when you first entered the Invoker Path.

–          Divine Demand: You may say “Voice of the Heavens” and then deliver a “Fear 10” effect via Spell-packet or Weapon strike, saying the effect in mid-throw or mid-swing. Alternatively, you may say “Voice of the Heavens! Heal 10” to heal yourself or a Chosen within weapon’s reach. Once either function of Voice of the Heavens is used, it may not be used again until after you have taken a Short Rest.

–          Weapon of the Gods: When you have a Blessed Weapon in your hands, any damaging Priest spell you cast through it inflicts 2 more points of damage than normal. A Blessed Weapon is any Weapon that bears your Religion’s symbol.

–          Divine Alacrity: You may call the holy gaze of your deity upon yourself to hold fast and to paralyze everyone around you. To do this, say “Eye of God! Whirlwind Snare 5” to inflict a 5 second Snare effect that affects all creatures within a one-handed weapon’s reach of you. If you are wielding a two-handed weapon, you may also use this to determine the reach of “Eye of God”, however, you must keep one hand on the middle of the weapon to shorten its reach.  Once this ability is used, you may not use it again until after you have had a short rest.

Tier 3

Requires:

–          20 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC or PC) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Avatara, Crusader or Seeker

Benefits:

A) You can now learn Complex Priest skills (non-Mastery only) and Complex Faith Spells

B) You gain the Mask ability of your chosen Sphere. However, you may only use it Once per Moon instead of Once per Period.

C) You gain the Cleric skill of the Sphere that you chose at Tier 2, thereby allowing you access to the Complex spells of that Sphere.

Tier 4

Requires:

–          30 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (PC or NPC only) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Avatara, Crusader or Seeker

Benefits:

A) You gain the 4th or 8th level Sub-class Feature (your Choice) of the Sub-class chosen for you.

B) For no build cost, you gain a Servitor skill for a Divine Sphere that your Religion gives you access to. In addition to its benefits, this skill allows you to cast Basic Spells of that Sphere.

C) You gain the 2nd level feature of the appropriate Priest Sub-class but you can only use it Once per Month instead.

Tier 5 (Master Invoker)

Requires:

–          40 Build

–          You must endure at least one month of training (including at least 10 minutes, during an Event) from a Trainer (NPC only) who has achieved the level 10 Class Feature for Avatara, Crusader or Seeker

Benefits:

A) You can now learn Erudite Priest skills and any Erudite Faith Spells that you find.

B) You gain the Harbinger skill of the Sphere that you chose at Tier 2, thereby allowing you access to the Complex spells of that Sphere.

C) You gain the 10th level Class Feature of your chosen Sphere.

D) Furthermore, you are considered to be a fully fledged member of a Priest Sub-class for the purposes of Teaching others and qualifying for other Paths. You may now learn the Mastery skills of the Priest Class.
